About Isabel Luz Camacho Black

I am Isabel “Izzy” Luz Camacho-Black, founder of Intentional Teaching and co-founder of Activate Your Power Now. My path to this work was not easy, but it was purposeful.

For more than 15 years, I’ve worked in early childhood education—as a teacher, daycare owner, nanny, and trainer. I’ve also served as a correctional officer, where I saw how unmet needs in childhood can ripple into adulthood. These experiences gave me a deep understanding: when children’s emotional and developmental needs are overlooked, the cost shows up later in life.

That truth shaped my passion. I created Intentional Teaching to empower educators with tools, mindset shifts, and intentional practices that bring peace, balance, and clarity into their lives and classrooms. My training is not just about strategies for children—it’s about strengthening the whole educator. When teachers feel supported and aligned, their overflow naturally blesses the children and families they serve.

Today, through Intentional Teaching, I offer KDHE-approved training, custom workshops for centers, and resources that help staff lead with presence and purpose. Beyond that, I continue to speak, co-host shows, and build communities where stories spark transformation.

My story is proof that pain can become purpose. Everything I do—whether training, speaking, or creating spaces for healing—is rooted in one belief: every moment matters, and we all have the power to live intentionally.
